Mechanism of Action/Target pathogen: Binds to bacterial penicillin-binding proteins (PBP) and interferes with bacterial cell wall integrity and synthesis. Active against Gram-positive and some Gram-negative bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, but vulnerable to beta-lactamases
